La Cascade de Gairaut

Rac de la Croix, 06100 Nice, France

Description

Built in the 19th century, the Cascade de Gairaut is an emblematic place in Nice, a true haven of peace which offers a magnificent view. Enjoy the view of the sea, the airport or the hill of the Castle and you can walk through the cave, made of fake rocks, wood and stalactites, inside and out, yet it all seems very real and natural. Since 2001, the Cascade de Gairaut, its cave, its basin and its chalet have been listed as Historic Monuments. The visit is exotic and you can extend your visit with a walk on the path at the foot of the waterfall, easy to do with children. Historically, the waterfall was created to commemorate the arrival of water in Nice via the Vésubie canal.
